Track 3 of 'Requiem for the Earth' by Linda Entwistle/Epiphany

lyrics

Our food is cut off, we have no supplies.
Our grain has dried out beneath cloudless skies.
Our cattle they wander about in despair.
Fire has scorched and devoured their pasture.
Even the streams are dying of thirst,
The first angel has done his worst.
The seas will become our grave
and the mountains our tombstone –
a memorial to us who paid no respect to creation.

Darkness descends with the thickening clouds.
The lights of the world snuffed out by a shroud.
The hail and the rain is bitter and hard
The earth sits in shame
for her beauty is marred.
Yet more volcanoes are ready to burst;
the third angel has done his worst.
The seas will become our grave
and the mountains our tombstone –
A memorial to us who paid
No respect to creation.
