about

This recording is an adventure into territory that is not often explored. On 2 days in July 2011 several musicians in Epiphany gathered at a church in Salford with the desire to 'capture' some of the sounds and expressions that have become the hallmark of many of the events we're put on over the last 3-4 years. All of the music you hear on this recording (apart from tracks 4, 8 and 12) was completely spontaneous and fully improvised at the time of recording - we had no pre-planned structure and no idea what would emerge until we began to play! This is music from our hearts and from the Spirit within us.

How is it possible to express the deepest things of life with words alone? Epiphany's aim is to create music that identifies more fully with joy & sorrow, pain and celebration, loneliness and despair - while at the same time expressing the reality of the hope that exists for all who are willing to place their fragile lives in the hand of Another.

This is not background music or easy listening music. it is music that paints pictures of life and of life beyond life. So take time to listen, not just with your ears, but with your heart and your spirit. You never know, something new & fresh may resonate with you as you listen to this recording...
